Captains Wood Barn in Great Totham, Essex, was the first wedding venue we visited—and we fell in love with it immediately. Nestled within 50 acres of private woodland, the venue offers a rustic yet elegant setting, complete with a charming barn, tranquil ponds, and enchanting wildflower meadows.

The ceremony area is outdoors beneath a grand oak tree, the daytime will be hosted in the grounds of the house and the barn itself will provide the hub for the evening celebrations. From the moment we arrived, we knew Captains Wood Barn was where we wanted to begin our forever

There is a lot of parking on site, though the owners “discourage” leaving your car parked there overnight and there’s plenty of Hotels nearby!
